Beaver Island State Park - Summer 2010

The Glass Bottom Float (GBF) investigates new ways of delivering information on beach conditions to the public. It provides a way to compare human sensory based judgment of a beach-going experience with machine based judgment (through sensors for water and wind, etc). GBF also asks how this comparison might suggest a new metric of water quality (the swimming pleasure measure) that could predict beach conditions.
